Raised in Chicago through high school. Attended college in Los Angeles and lived there 10 years. Have degrees in History, and am dangerously confident of my ability on several categories of Jeopardy. 2 children- a son who graduated from the University of Vermont and lives and works in Boston, MA, and my daughter who now resides in Denver, CO. Moved to Ashland, Oregon, a jewel of a town, just over the California border, 45 years ago. I owned my own retail business for just under 30 years, and have worked in sales since. We are fortunate to have a ski area 1/2 an hour out of town (Mt. Ashland). There is an extensive trail system for hiking or biking, rivers and lakes for fishing, and the Pacific is a beautiful 2 hour drive.

Rather than write an extensive laundry list of what I am seeking in a partner, let me attempt to keep things rather basic.

Obviously, there has to be a physical attraction. If there is no spark, there is no nothing!

I would appreciate a degree of intellect. God knows, I do not mean to posit myself as some Einstein, but it would be rather comforting and an attractive feature to have a partner who can converse on a range of subjects, and has a curiosity to learn. When I attended college, honing critical thinking was important to me. Even more important was what I refer to as "speculative knowledge." The desire to learn something, solely for knowledge's sake. I felt this would enable me to become more well-rounded, a better contributor, and hopefully a better citizen.

Lastly, I look for a partner who is psychologically balanced. Please, no dependencies, drug-wise, alcohol-wise or otherwise.

I always laugh when I read the phrase "please no baggage!" Ladies, it's been my life experience that we all have SOME baggage.. Hopefully, it is just of the "carry-on" variety. If we were to connect, it would be my pleasure to help you unpack.

I work out most every day. I ski, (rather competently), I still play hockey (getting to be rather pathetically), I Tango (Fred Asterribly), bike, surf, and have a deep background in most sports. So, if there might be some endeavor I have not mentioned, I'm sure I can participate.
